Barrington Memorial VFW Post #7706 needed a website

VFW Post #7706 was established in Barrington Illinois in 1946. The Post has given support to vets who have served overseas during WWI, WWII, the Korean and Viet Nam Wars, and the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq Wars.

While working with a former Post Commander on the website project, I learned much about the VFW and had the privilege to meet many vets. I am honored to be a part of the project.

What the VFW does

The benefits the Post offers to veterans of foreign wars is wide ranging: welcoming of vets returning home from combat, visiting vets in nursing homes, providing a military farewell to their comrades.

Vets and flags

The Post serves the community in many ways: essay contests, scholarships, speaking at community events, and more. They are also very involved in community events such as the Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades.

A new website

The website needed to accomplish 4 objectives:

  1. Create an easily accessible and central location for area vets to find support and resources.
  2. Educate the community about the VFW — what they do, what they offer, what events they are participate in.
  3. Encourage vets to join VFW Post 7706.
  4. Request volunteers and donations from the community.

Honor their service by making a donation to this very worthy organization. Post 7706 relies on donations to continue their programs.
