Add Falling Snow To Your WordPress Website
The holidays are coming soon, and so is wintery, snowy weather. It may be cold outside, but you can add some festive warmth and cheer to your WordPress website with animated falling snow using one of the many plugins available from the WordPress.org site.
Adding snow is very easy to do. From your WordPress Dashboard, go to Plugins> Add New. In the “Search Plugins” field in the upper left, type in “Snow.” A number of plugins will appear. Read the details to learn what the different plugins offer.
Select the plugin you want, click on “Install Now,” and then activate it. Your snow plugin may or may not have a settings link on the Dashboard that will let you change timing, snowflake size, color, etc.
The plugin I used is “Snow Flurry”. Snow Flurry comes with a Dashboard link for settings that allow me to:
- Adjust snowflake size;
- Adjust the snowflake density;
- Change the snowflake speed;
- Change the snow color;
- And best of all, I can turn it off after a given number of seconds (I opted for 35 seconds).
